"Ülemiste vari" on 2,5 tonni kaaluv ning 4,5 meetrise diameetriga purskkaev, mille kõrgeim punkt on maapinnast 3,5 meetri kõrgusel. Vihmavari kinnitub maapinda kahe vundamendielemendiga ning vihmavarju käepide kinnitub 7 meetri pikkusesse basseini, mis kujutab Ülemiste järve.
Purskkaevu jaoks saadi inspiratsiooni 2015. aastal kunstnik Von Bombi poolt loodud "Ülemiste tüdruk". Seinamaalil on kujutatud noort neidu punase vihmavarjuga, helesinisel taustal langeb vihmana binaarkood, mis koosneb 1560 number ühest ja nullist. Koodist saab kokku lugeda Debora Vaarandi poeemi "Ülemiste vanake ja noor linnaehitaja".
Ülemiste piirkond on oma nime saanud Ülemiste järve järgi, mis on juba sajandeid varustanud Tallinna linna veega. Üldtuntud muistendi kohaselt valvab Ülemiste järve vanake, kes Tallinna valmimise korral järvepinnast allpool asuva linna üle peaks ujutama. Nii käivatki aegajalt Ülemiste vanake linnas uurimas, kas Tallinn on juba valmis saanud, tema küsimise peale tuleb alati vastata eitavalt.

"Ülemiste Umbrella" is a fountain weighing 2.5 tons and 4.5 meters in diameter, the highest point of which is 3.5 meters above the ground. The umbrella is attached to the ground with two foundation elements, and the handle of the umbrella is attached to the 7-meter-long pool, which represents the Lake Ülemiste.
The inspiration for the fountain came from the "Ülemiste girl" created by the artist Von Bomb in 2015. The mural depicts a young girl with a red umbrella, a binary code consisting of 1560 numbers of ones and zeros falls like rain on a light blue background. From the code, you can read Debora Vaarand's poem "Ülemiste old man and young city builder".
According to a well-known legend, an old man watches over Lake Ülemiste, who should flood the city below the lake level if Tallinn is built. That's why the old man from Ülemiste comes to town from time to time to find out if Tallinn is ready yet, to his question you always have to answer no.
