Geocache Description:

If you're visiting Islamabad, Faisal Mosque will be at the top of your list of places to see, and is definitely the best spot to place this geocache - the first virtual cache in Pakistan! (I think!)

The Faisal Mosque is the national mosque of Pakistan. It is the fifth-largest mosque in the world, the largest mosque outside the Middle East, and the largest within South Asia, located in the foothills of the Margalla Hills in Islamabad. The mosque features a contemporary design and is inspired by a typical Bedouin tent. A major tourist attraction in Pakistan, the mosque is an influential piece of Islamic architecture. Construction of the mosque began in 1976 after a $28 million grant from Saudi King Faisal, whose name the mosque bears.

To claim this cache, you must do the following:

  1. Along with your log, upload a photo of the Faisal Mosque, with your GC name (written on a piece of paper or on your hand) in the photo. Selfies are optional, but welcome.
  2. Send me a message with the answers to this two-part question: You will be standing next to a small building - a mausoleum dedicated to General Zia-ul-Haq. How many sides does the building have? And how many entrances?

Notes:

  • If you don't post a photo of the mosque with at least your GC name in, the log will be deleted.
  • If you don't send me the answers to the two questions, the log will be deleted.
