ZADANIE:
Aby zalogować kesza masz do wykonania trzy zadania:
1. Stań w punkcie startowym, spójrz na budynek Dworca, znajdź wieżę zegarową i wykonaj jej zdjęcie, na którym będzie widać Twój palec wskazujący na zegar (zapamiętaj gdzie jest wieża).
2. Teraz przejdź w miejsce wykonania drugiego zadania - ok. 33,5m na azymut 311,77stopni. Znajdziesz tam metalowe spiralne schody. Dla wykazania swojej obecności przy Schodach - wykonaj zdjęcie schodów, potwierdzające Twoją obecność - może być na nim Twoja twarz, sylwetka, albo przedmiot osobisty - drewniaczek lub kartka z nickiem.
Oba zdjęcia załącz do loga.
3. Zadanie dodatkowe (wisienka na torcie): źródła jakie znalazłam opisują, że schody prowadziły kiedyś na wieżę zegarową.... Niby nie brzmi to dziwnie.. ale teraz wiesz już gdzie jest wieża i gdzie są schody... - Jeśli masz ochotę - opisz w logu swój pomysł na historyjkę o schodach (absolutnie nie związany z ich rzekomym historycznym przeznaczeniem opisanym poniżej) - dokąd prowadzą? Kto ich używał, a może nadal używa? Skąd się wzięły? A może to wcale nie są schody...?? Uruchom wyobraźnię i wymyśl coś szalonego, magicznego, tajemniczego albo śmiesznego...
HISTORIA:
Dworzec Główny został wybudowany w latach 1894–1900 w stylu tzw. „gdańskiego renesansu”. W połowie września 2019 roku rozpoczął się gruntowny remont Dworca, który zakończył się dopiero 31 lipca 2023r. Wykonano nowe stropy wewnątrz budynku oraz nowe dachy z wzorami z dachówek odtworzonymi na wzór historycznych. Oczyszczona i poddana renowacji została też wieża zegarowa i elewacje. Wewnątrz budynku przywrócone zostały dębowe witryny kasowe i sklepowe, przywrócono oryginalną kolorystykę ścian, zainstalowano oświetlenie wzorowane na historycznym. Powróciły też, zdobiące niegdyś wnętrze, wielkoformatowe witraże oraz kartusze z herbami miast pomorskich (zrekonstruowane na podstawie zachowanych zdjęć).
Nad zaprojektowanym pionem komunikacyjnym z poziomu 0 do poziomu -1, prowadzącym do węzłów sanitarnych i strefy poczekalni, wykonano przeszkloną kopułę doświetlającą. W tej okolicy zachowane zostały żelazne, spiralne schody. Nie byłoby w tym nic dziwnego, gdyby nie fakt, że... prowadzą donikąd. To fragment schodów, które dawniej prowadziły na wieżę zegarową. Dziś są niepotrzebne, ale ze względu na walor historyczny zostały zachowane i wyeksponowane w przestrzeni atrium dworca na wniosek wojewódzkiego konserwatora zabytków.
TASK:
To log the cache, you have to complete three tasks:
1. Stand at the starting point, look at the Railway Station building, find the clock tower and take a photo of it showing your finger pointing at the clock (remember where the tower is).
2. Now go to the place where you completed the second task - about 33.5 m to an azimuth of 311.77 degrees. There you will find a metal spiral staircase. To demonstrate your presence at the Stairs - take a photo of the stairs, confirming your presence - it may include your face, silhouette, or a personal item - a clog or a card with your nickname.
Attach both photos to the log.
3. The sources I found describe that the stairs once led to the clock tower.... It doesn't sound strange... but now you know where the tower is and where the stairs are... - So as an additional task - if you want - when logging, describe your idea for a story about the stairs (absolutely not related to their alleged former historical purpose) - where do they lead? Who used them or maybe still uses them? Where did they come from? Or maybe these aren't stairs at all...?? Use your imagination and come up with something crazy, magical, mysterious, funny...
HISTORY:
The Main Railway Station in Gdańsk was built in the years 1894–1900 in the so-called "Gdańsk Renaissance". In September 2019, a thorough renovation of the station began, which was completed on July 31, 2023. New ceilings inside the building and new roofs with tile patterns recreated after historical ones were made. The clock tower and facades were also cleaned and renovated. Inside the building, the oak cash register and shop windows were restored, as well as and the original colors of the walls. Lighting modeled on historic lighting was installed. Large-format stained glass windows and cartouches with the coats of arms of Pomeranian cities (reconstructed on the basis of preserved photos) also appeared, which once decorated the interior.
A glass illuminating dome was built above the designed communication section from level 0 to level -1, leading to sanitary facilities and the waiting area. The iron spiral staircase has been preserved in this area. There would be nothing strange about it, if not for the fact that... they lead nowhere. This is a fragment of the stairs that used to lead to the clock tower. Today they are no longer needed, but due to their historical value, they have been preserved and exposed in the station atrium, at the request of the Conservator of Monuments.
