O Fanal, localizado no coração da Laurissilva da Madeira, é um dos locais mais mágicos e fotogénicos da ilha. Este bosque ancestral, com as suas imponentes árvores centenárias envoltas em nevoeiro, parece saído de um conto de fadas. As árvores de loureiro, retorcidas e cobertas de musgo, criam um cenário único e impressionante.
O objetivo desta cache virtual é proporcionar aos visitantes a oportunidade de explorar e apreciar a beleza natural do Fanal, enquanto capturam momentos inesquecíveis entre estas árvores icónicas.
Fanal, located in the heart of Madeira’s Laurissilva forest, is one of the island’s most magical and photogenic spots. This ancient grove, with its towering, centuries-old trees shrouded in mist, seems to come straight out of a fairy tale. The twisted laurel trees, covered in moss, create a unique and striking landscape.
The goal of this virtual cache is to give visitors the chance to explore and appreciate the natural beauty of Fanal while capturing unforgettable moments among these iconic trees.

Para registar esta cache virtual, deverá tirar pelo menos 2 fotos. Uma foto obrigatória nas coordenadas publicadas e uma foto à sua escolha, na árvore que você mais gostar, em torno do ponto adicional.
Pode ser uma selfie, uma foto artística, algo que o identifique ou até mesmo uma composição que inclua a paisagem ao redor. Sinta-se à vontade para ser criativo, mas lembre-se de que a árvore deve estar visível na foto. Embora opcional, gostaríamos que partilhasse uma breve descrição do porquê de ter escolhido a árvore em particular (ex: o que a torna especial para si? Qual foi a sensação de estar neste ambiente encantador?)
To register this virtual cache, you must take at least 2 photos. A mandatory photo at published coordinates and a photo of your choice, in the tree you like the most, around the additional point.
It could be a selfie, an artistic photo, something that identifies you or even a composition that includes the surrounding landscape. When visiting Fanal, please:
🚫 Do not use Fanal as a toilet.
🚫 Do not create new trails or leave the marked paths.
🚫 Never climb the trees – especially the centuries-old ones.
🚫 Do not feed birds or any other animals.
🚫 Do not damage any plants or wildlife.
🗑 Do not leave litter. If possible, pick up any you find.
🐄 Do not touch or disturb the cattle.
📢 If you see harmful behaviour, kindly warn the person or, if needed, notify the forest ranger.
- 📵 Don’t be a “pseudo-influencer”: avoid sharing exaggerated or misleading information that could harm the site.
- 🌿 Do not try to “improve” what is already perfect. Fanal is, by itself, one of the most beautiful places in Madeira and in the world!
