Ngā Pou
In 2018, the Rototuna High Schools Board of Trustees commissioned three carved Pou to be erected outside the main entrance of the School. The Pou that are placed here represent the committment of Rototuna High Schools to the Treaty of Waitangi and the school's partnership with the local hapu Ngāti Wairere. The Pou represent the rich Māori culture of Aotearoa and acknowledge the traditions and histories of Ngāti Wairere as the original occupants of the land.
To record this cache you need to:-
- Visit posted co-ordinates
- Take a picture of the Pou and include in it proof of your visit. Eg Yourself, GPS or something of geocaching origin. As this is the front of a school, be careful not to include any students or your log will be removed. Post this photo with your log.
- Go to the front of the Pou and transcribe one of the whakataukī (preferably in Māori but we will accept English) and message it to us. (Do not post this information in your log).
You can post your log immediately, but if you provide us incorrect answers we may remove your post or seek clarification to ensure you have actually visited the pou.
Enjoy your visit.
