Geocache Description:

History
The Queen Victoria Market, established in 1850, began as a wholesale produce market to supply the growing population of Melbourne. Initially named the "Queen Market," it was officially renamed in 1880 in honor of Queen Victoria. The market played a crucial role in the city's development, providing fresh produce and goods to locals. Over the decades, it expanded and adapted, surviving various challenges, including fires and economic changes. Today, it stands as a vibrant cultural and culinary hub, featuring a mix of fresh produce, gourmet foods, artisan products, and a lively atmosphere, ultimately reflecting Melbourne's diverse community and history.
