VALENCIA AL MAR
Valencia es una de las ciudades más importantes de España, con una notable oferta turística. El turismo realmente comenzó con el boom de principios del siglo XX, momento en el que los habitantes de Valencia comenzaron a disfrutar del entorno que les rodeaba, principalmente las zonas costeras de la Malvarrosa y el Cabañal, donde se construyeron casas de segunda residencia, e incluso un balneario. En esta época, era costumbre de la gente importante poseer alguna de estas casas, para su uso y poder invitar a sus familiares y amigos. Un caso muy destacado es el escritor valenciano Blasco Ibáñez, y sus conocidas reuniones con pintores y filósofos de la época. Transcurrida la guerra civil se produjo un segundo boom turístico, cuando se mejoraron las antiguas playas de pescadores, aumentando la oferta de alojamientos y servicios de las playas para convertirlas en verdaderos centros turísticos.
Aunque en realidad el verdadero boom turístico de la ciudad ocurrió a finales del siglo XX y principios del XXI, ya que fue en esta época cuando se construyeron los nuevos iconos arquitectónicos y culturales de la ciudad, como por ejemplo el Palacio de la Música, la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, el Palacio de Congresos o el Bioparc. En esta época se celebraron también varios eventos deportivos y culturales importantes, en particular las dos ediciones de la America's Cup y el Gran Premio de Europa de Fórmula 1 en el circuito urbano de Valencia. Sin embargo, en 2012, el circuito fue clausurado debido a la crisis global económica, la cual tuvo severas consecuencias en España, y más específicamente en la Comunidad Valenciana. En la actualidad, todavía se pueden observar anuncios publicitarios en algunas curvas y numerosos muros a lo largo de la trazada.
