For some unplanned, inexplicable and unjustifiable reason, I have been maintaining a streak. It's got to the point where I have surpassed all of my initial, extended and completely unforeseen goals and I just need to stop. After discussing this with various people, with a range of responses (just don't find a cache?), I decided the way to make it easy was a planned and strategic end. So (hopefully), this is it. Day 453 and the right time to finish (or maybe that was several weeks or months ago).
The beginning of the end was when I found two newly published local caches on the same day 
and I can't really bear the thought of going to Day 500, so what is the point of extending the pain?
Come and join me, not to celebrate a milestone, but to convince me to stop being so stupid! 
I might even soften the trauma with a beer (on a Monday?!)
