Kõik tartlased tunnevad ära Supilinna, kus on võimalik ringi jalutada värviliste majade vahel. Tänavad, mis on justkui supi koostisosad. Kokku teevadki nad Supilinna. Aga mis siis kui Tartus on veel üks sarnane linnaosa? Üldiselt seda nii ei tunta - pigem tuntakse seda kui Variku linnaosa. Rahvakeeli kui "kahe raudtee vahel" olev elamupiirkond. 5 aastat tagasi Tartusse kolides ja uudishimulikult linna avastades, märkasin, et leiduvad ka põnevad moositänavad. Nii värviline see linnaosa küll pole, kuid põnev on siin jalutada ikka!

Nullis asub üks äsjaavatud erivajadustega lastele mõeldud õppehoone, mis asendab varem Puiestee tänaval asunud kooli. Kui sa ei tea veel, mis koolist jutt käib, siis tule nulli ja saa kooliga tuttavaks. Seejärel loe, mitu korda on selle hoonele kooli nimi kirjutatud. Koolihoovi sisenema ei pea.

Võib-olla kui siia liikusid, kõndisid sa mööda Pihlaka tänavat. Igaljuhul pead sa üle lugema, mitme tänavaga Pihlaka tänav ristub.

See tehtud, võta suund cerasus tänavale. Siit otsi üles kõige suurema aadressi numbriga maja.

Edasi liikudes üle raudtee Moosilinna sügavustesse jõuamegi täitsa Varikule - peaksid end leidma paljude lemmikmoosi - Maasika tänavalt. Selle tänava lõpust peaksid leidma päris maasikalise maja.

All Tartu residents recognize Supilinn, where it's possible to stroll among colorful houses. The streets resemble ingredients of a soup, and together they make up Soup town. But what if there's another similar neighborhood in Tartu? Generally, it's not recognized as such; instead, it's known as the Variku district. In colloquial terms, it's referred to as the residential area "between the two railways." Five years ago, when I moved to Tartu and curiously explored the city, I noticed that there are also some streets named like jam components in this area. While it may not be as colorful as Supilinn, it's still fascinating to take a walk here!

On the caches zero coordinates you can find a recently opened school building designed for children with special needs, replacing the school that was previously located on Puiestee Street. If you don't know which school is being referred to, come to zero and get acquainted with the school. Then, count how many times the name of the school is written on the building. Entering the schoolyard is not necessary.

Maybe you got here by Pihlaka (Sorbus) street. Find out how many streets does Pihlaka street intersect with.
B = [Streets intersected with] + 2
Now - find your way to cerasus street. Find the house with the highest aadress number.
C= [House number digit sum] - 2
Moving on across the railway into the depths of Jam town, we'll arrive in Variku itself – you should find yourself on many people's favorite jam, Maasika (Strawberry) Street. Towards the end of this street, you should come across a quite strawberry-themed house.

If you came from here, you probably zoomed past the rubus jam as well. Locate the muraka-colored house at either end of Muraka Street. Personally, I recommend strolling through this short street for the joy of discovery ;).

Now, finally, the jam that many Estonians love to pair with blood sausages during the Christmas season. Come to this street and count all the doors on the street. Don't include the garage and shed doors, and additionally, count only the buildings on this jam street. That is, do not count the buildings possessing the intersecting streets aadress. There's no need to enter anyone's yard; all doors are visible from the street!
