I thought it would be good to continue on the bike track and set out some more great family friendly caches. The Around the Mountains Bike track is well maintained and an easy walk or cycle for the family. It is never crowded so it's a great opportunity to let young or new cachers explore a bit and discover different cache containers. My aim is to get more people interested in geocaching (especially youngsters!)
I've had a lot of fun finding places for these. You always have to approach things with a different outlook when you're aiming to hide something. This is a repurposed mayonnaise jar - always good to give them a seond life! A wee bit of a scramble required for this one.
Please remember that there are farms along here so check out fences before you touch them. No need to go over the fence.
Just along from here is the Environment Southland water monitoring spot. Check out https://envdata.es.govt.nz/ Pretty sure this is the Oreti River at Lumsden Cableway. Quite fascinating to look at - but look, don't touch :)
