Midge and I have a deep love for this site, Richard Jeffries was a major protector of Wildlife, nature and the outdoors. We walk past this Farm together every day and throughout Spring and Summer we attend the Free events and support the conservation of the Farm where we can. Many happy memories here.
Foamy is currently reading Richard Jeffries work and enjoying the descriptions of Liddington (a place he loved) and local walks we also enjoy.
Let us introduce the man to you:-

THE VICTORIAN DAVID ATTENBOROUGH
John Richard Jefferies (6 November 1848 – 14 August 1887) was an English nature writer, noted for his depiction of English rural life in essays, books of natural history, and novels. You are standing at his childhood home, a small Wiltshire farm at Coate. This home had a great influence on him and provided the background to all his major works of fiction.
AFTER LONDON
After London (1885), can be seen as an early example of "post-apocalyptic fiction": after some sudden and unspecified catastrophe has depopulated England, the countryside reverts to nature, and the few survivors to a quasi-medieval way of life.
THE CACHE
The cache is well disguised to blend in with the surroundings, it's a film canister with extras.
You will need a pencil.
This is a high traffic and high muggle area, please be stealthy.
Replace the cache as found and make sure well seated and secure, also stealthy.. for the next Cache adventurer.
CLUES 🕵🏻♀️ <~ DETECTIVE MIDGE
- I can’t be-leaf how many clues you’ve found. Maybe this hunt’s knot hard enough. This next clue should be a real stumper!
- My first is in animator but not in narration
My second is in overlap but not in palaver
My third is in reediness but not in dinner
My fourth is in pansy but not in nappy
Happy hunting and have fun! Foamy 🧼 & Midge 🐭
