🐰 Happy Easter! 🐣
Two years ago, we gathered together on the afternoon of Easter Sunday for some old-fashioned fun. Everyone seemed to have a good time at that event (GC9NTDH), so why not do it again?
This will be a combination Easter egg hunt and C.I.T.O. (Cache in, Trash Out) event, where attendees will be gathering both trash and treasure. In addition to hiding the special eggs, I will provide water, cookies, and bags for trash collection. If you want gloves, grabby-tools, rabbit ears, etc., don't forget to bring them along with you. There will be a spot to trade or discover trackables, if desired. If you're interested in the egg hunt, please read below for more details, as it will be slightly different than last time.
Tentative event schedule

4:00pm-4:30pm: Meet, greet, & cookies 🤝👋 🍪
4:30pm-5:30pm: Hunting eggs and trash! 🔎 🥚🗑️
5:30pm-6:00pm: Group photo, deposit trash collected, event wrap up 📸🚮♻️
A number (TBD, depending on attendance) of colored plastic Easter eggs will be hidden geo-style around the park. All cachers participating in the CITO event may also choose to hunt for these eggs while cleaning up the area. Each plastic egg contains a small prize (such as candy or toys/swag), but some will contain a special token. If you find a token, you'll be able to redeem it for a unique glass egg (handmade by m3a9) for you to keep. Please enjoy these one-of-a-kind miniature treasures as a small souvenir from the event - thank you for helping today!
Rules
1. I kindly ask that you refrain from arriving too early prior to the official start time. Like many others, I'll have pre-event plans this day, and I'll need some time before the event to hide the eggs. I promise you won't miss anything by showing up on-time...that's why we'll wait a bit to start the hunt.
2. Before we start the hunt, I'll announce the final rules - where to search (and NOT search), how many eggs you may collect, what you're looking for, and what to do when you find them. Some of this will depend on attendance and weather / park conditions, but the plan is to have plenty of eggs available to hunt!
3. Don't forget to CITO during your egg hunt! Our main goal here today is to leave the park nicer than we found it. If you don't find much garbage, consider another way that you Can Improve The Outdoors. All trash collected should be placed into the on-site receptacles (trash cans or dumpsters) before leaving. (Other than eggs, what is the most interesting thing you found?)
4. As always, please search respectfully, and remember that others may also be using the park. And don't forget to use your geo-senses...some eggs are tougher to find than others, but all are at least partially visible (from the right angle) without moving anything.
While I know that the timing of this event may not necessarily fit into everyone's plans, feel free to join us at the park for at much time as will suit your schedule. If you're considering attending, I ask that you PLEASE log a "Will Attend" ASAP, along with how many you "egg-spect" (see what I did there?) in your party, so that I can be properly prepared. (Bonus points for any Easter/egg puns in your log!)
