I am not sure when the meat works was established but we do know that in 1963 Meat Trader RK Bartholomew and trade Buyer RF Hooper purchased the Murray Bridge Meatworks.
In 1965 the owners of Murray Bridge hold talks with councillors and business people to expand the works and would use Charles David Pty Ltd (Sydney based) for business administration and export services.
In 1966 when Kevin (Kev) Pitcher purchased a B61 Mack and triple deck stock crate and began contracting to the Charles David Abattoirs in Murray Bridge.
in 1999 Thomas and Rowe Families (T & R Pty Ltd) took over operations, in 2008, Thomas bought out Rowe which then became known as Thomas Foods International.
In 2018 there was an accidental fire that burned for days and gutted a portion of the meatworks, they had to close the beef section down, they have since established a new abattoir a few kilometers north closer to Palamana.
