Leap Day only comes around once every four years. For this reason, February 29 is a frenzy of activity for geocachers as they fill in their calendar grids, host Events, and generally try to fit four years’ worth of geocaching into just one day.
In the spirit of making up for lost time, we’re celebrating 2024’s extra day with an event to help you earn an extra special souvenir!
How can I earn the souvenir?
Enter through the wormhole and earn the “Leap Day 2024” souvenir by logging any four geocaches, events, or Adventure Lab Locations on February 29.

Can I mix and match log types?
Yes! Any combination of geocaches and Adventure Lab Locations logged will count towards the souvenir.
Why four logged caches?
Each cache logged on this rare date represents a find on one of the nonexistent February 29 dates of the past. We’re not saying time travel exists, but we think this is pretty close!
What if I only have two other logs for the day when I get to the event?
We have complete faith that you will leave the event with two more logs for the day than when you arrived. Hint, hint, wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
Where & when the heck will these festivities take place?
We shall gather at Cancun Mexican restaurant at Cedar Bluff from 6-8 pm. No purchase is required if you just wanna hang out and commune, but the grub is really good.
Why didn't you have this at IHOP? That seems more fitting.
Because Fogie likes Cancun better, it has more room, and IHOP will be crowded because it is Leap Day.
Will there be prizes?
Of course! FANTABULOUS prizes, we tell ya! AND we will have a special prize drawing for two lucky folks who complete their 366-day finds calendar that day. If only one or no one attending completed their calendar that day, then the drawing will be for any attendee(s) who completed it previously.
Is Ol'Fogie gonna tell corny jokes?
Probably, but please attend anyway.
