Around 1930 with the expansion of Bognor and its adjacent villages, the Free Church Federal Council of Bognor drew up plans for the establishment of non-conformist Places of worship to be built in order to deal with the growing population.
In 1938, on behalf of the Baptist Denomination, Dr J.C.Carlyle, C.H. C.B.E., of Folkestone placed a scroll under the foundation stone setting the historic seal to the Church. The Church was officially opened on 11th May 1938 with a service led by Rev. Sutton.
During the sixties, the Church buildings were extended to meet the growing needs of the community and the congregation. The hall was again further developed in the late nineties.
Today there has been further development on site, including a cafe area and accessible toilets (not always open).
The church has a carpark and it is also possible to park on the road outside if the carpark is full - however this might not be the best time to try and find the cache! Events occur on Sunday mornings and throughout the week.
