Geocache Description:

29 February 2024, 15:00 - 17:00

An event so rare, it comes around only once every four years! To make 2024 a memorable one, CuriousKDB and MedfordPnG have teamed up with Bike to the Sea (B2C), the non-profit Northern Strand Trail advocacy organization, to celebrate Leap Day with a great CITO.

It will be held from 3–5 p.m. and be headquartered at the B2C Bike Kitchen located at 158 Canal St. in Malden, MA. If you are driving, there is ample free on-street parking on the west side of the street. By MBTA, the Malden Center Orange Line station is ½ mile away, bring a bag with you and pick up trash along the way. And the Northern Strand extends from Lynn all the way to Everett, so getting there by bike is so easy!

B2C holds monthly cleanups along the 10-mile long trail and will provide tools, supplies, trail maps, and refreshments, but bring your own work gloves and grabber if you have one. Going south, you can tidy up the trail as it passes historic Bell Rock cemetery and continue on to Rivergreen Park in Everett. Going north you will have the opportunity to view a number of Malden ArtLine installations—and in either direction, grab a cache or two.

We also invite you to learn more about Bike to the Sea. They hold many other events throughout the year, including bike rides, walks, presentations and social get-togethers. You’ll even get to see their Bike Kitchen, which is a community DIY space where people can access tools, equipment, and knowledge to fix and maintain their own bicycles.

We hope to see you there!!
