Este caché está dedicado a un viaje en tabla de SUP que hice la primavera pasada desde Alzira por el río Júcar hasta Sueca.
No sabía si era posible, pero una vez vi el río desde la ventanilla de un tren y decidí que parece bastante bueno para la navegación (a diferencia de otros ríos locales, que o son demasiado rápidos y poco profundos, o simplemente no hay agua en ellos) y sólo quería intentarlo. Justo cerca de este lugar inflé mi tabla y la lancé al agua. El arroyo era bastante rápido, pero era posible maniobrar con el remo, así que me despedí de la agradable orilla y comencé mi viaje. La mayoría de las orillas estaban cubiertas de juncos, pero despues comenzaron a aparecer moreras, ¡y esto hizo que mi viaje fuera delicioso!
Mi objetivo final era la desembocadura del río cerca de Cullera, pero el viento en contra ralentizaba mi movimiento y varias assuds debajo lo harían realmente desafiante, así que paré cerca de Sueca, y eso fue el final de un día de aventuras y de remo. El lugar indicado para desembarcar es justo antes de Assut de Riola en una estación de piraguas (si alguien decide repetir mi ruta).
También navegué por la parte del río entre Alberic y Alzira, pero no lo recomendaría porque en Alberic es muy difícil acercarse al agua (¿saben los vecinos de este pueblo que tienen un río?) y el flujo está bloqueado en varios lugares por represas de castores o simplemente por basura y se requiere un esfuerzo considerable para superarlas.
This cache is dedicated to a trip on SUP board that I made last spring from Alzira down the river Jucar to Sueca.
I didn´t know if it is even possible, but once I just saw the river from a train window and decided that it looks rather good for navigation (unlike other local rivers, which are either too fast and shallow, or there is simply no water in them) and just wanted to try. Just near this location I inflated my board and launched it on the water. The stream was rather fast, but it was possible maneuver with the paddle, so I said goodbye to the pleasant shore and started my journey. The banks were mostly overgrown with reeds, but downstream the mulberry trees began to appear, and this made my voyage delicious!
My final purpose was the river mouth near Cullera, but the headwind slowed down my movement, and several diversion dams below there would make it really challenging, so I stopped near Sueca, and it was the final of a adventurous day full of rowing. The right place to get out there is right before Assut de Riola on a boat station (if someone decides to repeat my route).
I also navigated the part of the river between Alberic and Alzira, but I wouldn't recommend it as in Alberic it is very difficult to approach the water (do the residents of this village even know that they have a river?) and the flow is blocked in several places either by beaver dams or simply by rubbish, and it takes considerable effort to climb over them.
