Opposite the cache is the oxymoronic concept of a Cultural Industrial Park (TCL文化产业园); seemingly a testament to cultural commodification.
Judging by the building exterior and the way it presents itself to the surrounds, the cultural industrial park is characterized more by its adherence to functionality than any nod to aesthetic pleasure or creativity. A curious endeavour to encapsulate culture within the rigid confines of an office complex, it presents itself as a beacon of creativity amidst a sea of utilitarianism, but in the context of the greenway somehow achieves the opposite.
The industrial park complex is car-oriented, parking saturated, gated, lacking in public spaces or landscaping, devoid of creative or playful design elements, oblivious to the waterway and generally miserable. The blueway on the other hand is open to all, oriented to bikes and pedestrians, full of landscaping elements and greenery, and everything that the cultural industrial park isn't.
According to online information the park has a mix of uses, but in reality it seems to get what the building and site design deserves, in terms of tenancy and activity.
