About the Boulevard Park Library
The Boulevard Park Library has a proud legacy as the first library to join the newly formed King County Library System (KCLS) in 1943. Originally founded in 1937 during the Great Depression by a local women’s club, the library was created to serve the growing Boulevard Park community, located south of Seattle between White Center and Boeing Field. To keep up with demand, a second library was built in 1952, followed by the current building in 1971. Renovations in 1991, 2002, and later in 2016-2017 ensured the library continued to meet the needs of the evolving community.Â
