"Libraries were full of ideas – perhaps the most dangerous and powerful of all weapons."Â
-Â Sarah J. MaasÂ
This Multi-Cache was placed with permission and is full of (and surrounded by) treasure, especially if you're a lover of books. While no employee interaction or purchase is required, questions and conversation with staff are welcome. This cache is only accessible during the library's open hours.Â
Once you've reached the posted coordinates, locate the placard near the red sculpture to determine the missing values for A & B.Â
- A = Find the three-digit number listed after "KCLS" on the bottom line of the placard. Add these digits together to get A. For example, if the number is 350, then 3 + 5 + 0 = 8Â
- B = Count the total number of letters in the artist’s first and last name, then subtract 3Â
You'll find the geocache located at PNW ABA.BBB inside the library. If you have the time, stick around to appreciate all this community space has to offer.
Optional: What are you reading? Feel free to share a favorite book or a recent read in your log! 📚
About the Burien Library
The Burien Library has been a vital part of the community since 1944, when it first opened as a small, volunteer-run space in a modest building. As Burien grew, so did its library. By the early 2000s, the existing space could no longer keep up with the increasing demand for modern resources and expanded programs, making a larger, more advanced facility essential.
On June 13, 2009, the library reopened in a spacious, 32,000-square-foot building, designed to serve book lovers, students, and curious minds alike. Whether you're here for the geocache, a great read, or a quiet place to unwind, you are welcome in the Burien Library!
