久喜駅の北側でJR東北本線と東武伊勢崎線を跨ぐ人道跨線橋の一端がループしています。
この道は元々は幸手新道と呼ばれる、1888（明治21）年に幸手と久喜を最短経路で結ぶために開鑿された道路です。
当時の幸手にはまだ東武日光線が通じておらず、1885（明治18）年に開業した東北本線（当時は日本鉄道）久喜駅を
ターミナルとする物流網の構築は周辺自治体にとって重要課題でした。
一直線の道路がその重要性を表しています。
以来、90年にわたって幸手新道踏切が運用されてきましたが、昭和の高度経済成長で自動車通行量が
飽和状態となったため踏切除却事業が進められ、1976（昭和51）年2月に当歩道橋及び車道の跨線橋である
丸島大橋が供用開始され、踏切は除却されました。
当時の踏切東側付近には民家があり、買収の難航が予想されたのか、昇降スロープは民家を避けるようにループを描くこととなりました。

One end of the humanitarian overpass that crosses the JR Tohoku Main Line and the Tobu Isesaki Line loops around the north side of Kuki Station.
