Pour réaliser l'intégralité de la série bleue , le parcours fait 10 kilomètres.

Jeux olympiques d'Athènes 1896
Les Jeux olympiques de 1896, également nommés Jeux de la première olympiade1, en grec Ολυμπιακοί Αγώνες, sont organisés en 1896 à Athènes en Grèce. Ce sont les premiers Jeux olympiques de l'ère moderne, organisés par le Comité international olympique. Ils se déroulent du 6 au 15 avril 1896, neuf jours de compétition pendant lesquels 241 sportifs s'affrontent dans neuf sports différents pour un total de 122 médailles.
C'est à l'issue d'un congrès organisé en 1894 à Paris par le Français Pierre de Coubertin qu'est créé le Comité international olympique (CIO) et que la capitale grecque est désignée première ville hôte de l'événement olympique. Ce congrès décide également de l'exclusion des sportifs professionnels et des femmes au profit de l'amateurisme et du sexe masculin.
Bien que le nombre de sportifs présents soit assez faible comparé aux chiffres des éditions plus récentes, c'est la première fois qu'une réunion sportive rassemble autant de participants. Et malgré l'absence de quelques-uns des meilleurs athlètes de l'époque, les Jeux connaissent un vif succès auprès du public grec. Pour les Grecs, la victoire de leur compatriote Spyrídon Loúis dans le marathon est l'un des moments forts de la compétition. Le sportif le plus titré à l'issue des neuf jours de compétition est le lutteur et gymnaste allemand Carl Schuhmann, sacré champion olympique à quatre reprises.

Athens Olympic Games 1896
The 1896 Olympic Games, also known as the Games of the First Olympiad1, in Greek Ολυμπιακοί Αγώνες, were held in 1896 in Athens, Greece. These were the first Olympic Games of the modern era, organized by the International Olympic Committee. They took place from April 6 to 15, 1896, nine days of competition during which 241 athletes competed in nine different sports for a total of 122 medals.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) was created following a congress organized in Paris in 1894 by the Frenchman Pierre de Coubertin, and the Greek capital was designated as the first host city for the Olympic event. The congress also decided to exclude professional sportsmen and women in favor of amateurism and men.
Although the number of sportsmen and women present was relatively low compared to more recent editions, it was the first time that a sports meeting had brought together so many participants. And despite the absence of some of the best athletes of the time, the Games were a great success with the Greek public. For the Greeks, the victory of their compatriot Spyrídon Loúis in the marathon was one of the highlights of the competition. The most successful athlete at the end of the nine days of competition was German wrestler and gymnast Carl Schuhmann, who was crowned Olympic champion four times.
