This is probably the best easy hike you've never done! This ammo can geocache is hidden atop the 1,492 m summit of Two Pines, a beautiful family friendly hike just west of the town of Bragg Creek. Expect a great trail with stunning views at the top. It's a short hike, covering 2.4 km (return, 1.2 km each way) with about 150 m of elevation gain. I highly recommend this hike, especially on a clear day to enjoy the fantastic views!
Fantastic Views from the Summit of Two Pines:
Park in a small lot at the provided coordinates, which is just big enough for 2 or 3 vehicles. The trail starts on the north side of the parking area, heading into the trees immediately. Follow the trail to a major junction, then head left (north) for the main trail that heads along the ridge. Hike upwards on an excellent trail between the trees. Soon you break above the trees and the views open up to the west. The mountain scenery to the west is spectacular - probably one of the best bang-for-your-buck hikes I've ever done! Almost hard to believe I didn't even know this hike existed until last week (and that there wasn't a geocache on top!). You've gotta come do this hike! Kid and dog friendly, we saw several of both on our way up. Relax at one of the two benches at the top to take in the views - after you've found the geocache, of course! Enjoy!
