Avon is a city in Stearns County, Minnesota. Interstate 94 and County Highway 9 are two of the main routes in the city. As of the census of 2010, there were 1,396 people, 557 households, and 393 families residing in the city.
History
Avon Township, settled in 1856 and organized in 1866, and its city, founded in 1873 and incorporated on January 26, 1900, bear the name of three rivers in England and two in Wales and of villages and townships in Maine, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, and 12 other states of the Union.
