Vítejte u mé druhé keše, tentokrát tradičky.
Vždy, když jsem se koukal na mapu kešek, tak jsem si myslel, že nějaká keš u koupaliště už dávno je. Ano, slyšeli jste dobře. Geocaching už hraju skoro rok a stále jsem si nevšiml, že Úvalskému koupališti chybí keš 😅, a tak jsem se rozhodl, že to napravím a keš založím.
Přemýšlel jsem opět nad "luštící" keší, ale nakonec jsem se rozhodl, že udělám odpočinkovou tradičku.
Pokud tuto keš zrovna lovíte v období červen-září, tak určitě zvažte návštěvu koupaliště. Ze všech stran koupaliště je les, takže tu i o horkých letních dnech najdete stín.
Pamatuji, jak jsme ještě před rokem 2015 před uzavřením (to mi bylo cca 6 let) na koupaliště občas chodili. Byly tam dvě malé klouzačky, na kterých jsem dokázal vydržet klidně dvě hodiny. Teď, na novém koupališti sice žádné klouzačky nejsou, ale jsem moc rád, že se koupaliště podařilo zachránit. Sám sem v létě někdy chodím.
Před tím, než bylo postaveno Úvalské koupaliště na místě, na kterém je doteď, byly v Úvalech ještě 2 předchůdci koupaliště.
Úplně první doložené koupaliště (1894), se nacházelo na Škvoreckém potoce pod slovany. Za vznikem tohoto koupaliště stál farář Vojtěch Šrámek. Tehdy se tomu neříkalo koupaliště, ale koupelna. Na začátku 20. století už koupelna nebyla dostačující vzhledem k rostoucímu počtu obyvatel Úval, a proto v Úvalech začalo fungovat druhé koupaliště, přesněji řečeno koupadlo. Pokud se chcete dozvědět něco více o něm, doporučuji odlovit keš Stare Koupadlo. Kvůli stížnostem občanů a obavám o zhoršení kvality vody bylo Stare koupadlo někdy kolem roku 1936 uzavřeno.
Přibližně v této době začalo vedení městečka uvažovat o stavbě městského koupaliště. Ve zprávě pro vodoprávní úřad se o záměru píše již v dubnu 1936. Původně se uvažovalo o stavbě koupaliště na Králičině (pokud se něco chcete dozvědět o Králičině, doporučuji keš Naučná stezka "Škvorecká obora – Králičina"). Nakonec koupaliště vzniklo na louce pod Holou Hostyní. Stavba jednoho bazénu o rozměrech 75x25m byla zahájena 21.9.1940 a dokončena byla o rok později. V roce 1944 byla pro zlepšení kvality vody dokonce vyhloubena nová vlastní studna.
V 50. letech proběhla generální rekonstrukce koupaliště, kdy byl původní bazén rozdělen na dva menší, zbudovalo se dětské brouzdaliště s vlastní napájecí studnou a šatny. Pak dlouho probíhala pouze údržba.
V 70. letech bylo koupaliště dokonce několik let zavřeno. Podle pamětníků byla dna bazénů zanesena blátem a rostlo v nich rákosí. Na konci 70. let byly bazény koupaliště opět opraveny, i když dost provizorním způsobem, byly vybudovány nové šatny a občerstvení u vchodu do areálu.
K zásadnější rekonstrukci město přistoupilo v roce 1999. Byly nově vybetonovány bazény, opraveny rozvody, postavena skluzavka a nové herní prvky pro děti. Práce byla provedena nekvalitně a město řešilo řadu reklamací, ale čistota vody a úroveň celého areálu se zlepšila.
Na tento stav navázal poslední nájemce, který se snažil udržet koupaliště po technické stránce v chodu a vybudoval v areálu řadu sportovišť – hřiště na beach voleybal, nohejbal, tenis, minigolf. Půjčovalo se zde sportovní vybavení a společenské hry. Úvalský podnik Orange bar zde otevřel svou letní provozovnu. Koupaliště žilo, ale technický stav čistírny vody, vodních rozvodů a elektroinstalace byl opět téměř havarijní, a proto bylo v roce 2015 uzavřeno.
V říjnu roku 2016 proběhlo v Úvalech referendum, ve kterém obyvatelky/ obyvatelé Úval odpovídali na otázku “Jste pro, aby bylo obnoveno úvalské koupaliště, i když o náklady s tím spojené budou kráceny finanční prostředky určené na rekonstrukci infrastruktury a ostatního majetku?”. Referenda se zúčastnilo 50,2% voličů, z nichž 75% rozhodlo, že koupaliště chce obnovit.
Po tomto referendu se začali dělat různé rozbory vody a posudky ke konstrukci bazénu.
Rozbory vody ukázaly, že voda ze studny na koupališti není pro plnění bazénu použitelná bez výstavby nákladné úpravny vody. Důvody jsou následující:
• výskyt fekálních bakterií
• 38x vyšší hodnota zákalu vody než připouští norma
• 30x vyšší hodnota železa a 23x manganu než připouští norma
• vysoká tvrdost vody
Dále nevyhovovaly i další faktory, jako jsou:
• Nedostatečná kapacita úpravny vody vzhledem k velikosti bazénu
• Nebezpečí výboje o napětí 400V do bazénu z akumulační jímky
• Havarijní stav filtračního systému
• Dětské hřiště ve špatném stavu
• Oplocení na straně směrem k potoku je podemleté a hroutí se
Do čeho muselo město investovat, aby bylo možné zachránit úvalské koupaliště?
• Oprava bazénových van
• Nová filtrační jednotka
• Nové šatny a sprchy
• Nové, nebo rozšířené WC
• Nové ochozy a brodítka kolem bazénů
• Nové zázemí pro plavčíky
• Nové oplocení areálu.
Na realizaci rekonstrukce a otevření koupaliště se také podílel spolek Zachraňme koupaliště Úvaly.
Zachránit koupaliště Úvaly stálo město kolem 43 000 000 kč.
Koupaliště bylo slavnostně otevřeno 1.6.2018 a od té doby funguje nepřetržitě, každou sezónu.
Ke keši
Keš je 800ml krabička LockAndLock. Přímo k ní se kočárkem nedostaneš, ale zaparkovat ho můžeš cca 7 metrů od keše.
V keši se nachází jedno Úvalské CWG. Vyměňujte POUZE KUS ZA KUS, ať dělá radost i dalším lovcům.

Welcome to my second cache, this time a traditional one.
Whenever I looked at the map of caches, I thought that there was a cache close by the Úvaly public swimming pool for a long time. Yes, you heard it right. I've been playing geocaching for almost a year now and I still haven't noticed that the Úvaly swimming pool is missing a cache, so I decided to fix it and create a new cache.
I was thinking about a mystery/multi cache again, but in the end I decided to make a relaxing traditional cache.
If you are currently hunting for this cache in the period from June to September, I strongly recommend considering to visit the swimming pool. There is a forest on all sides of the swimming pool, so you will find shade here even on a hot summer day.
I remember how before 2015 before the closure (I was about 6 years old), we used to go to the swimming pool from time to time. There were two small slides that I could easily stay on for two hours. Now, there are no slides at the new swimming pool, but I am very glad that the swimming pool was saved and re-opened. I sometimes come here myself in the summer.
Before the Úvaly swimming pool was built on the site where it is today, there were 2 predecessors of the swimming pool in Úvaly.
The very first documented swimming pool (1894) was located on the Škvorecký brook below the Slovany. Behind the creation of this swimming pool was the parish priest Vojtěch Šrámek. Back then, it wasn't called a swimming pool, but a bathroom. At the beginning of the 20th century, the bathroom was no longer sufficient due to the growing number of inhabitants of Úvaly, and therefore a second swimming pool, or more precisely a swimming pool, began to operate in Úvaly. If you want to learn more about it, I recommend hunting for a cache Old Swimming Pool. Due to complaints from citizens and concerns about the deterioration of water quality, the Old Swimming Pool was closed sometime around the year1936 closed.
Around this time, the town management began to consider the construction of a municipal swimming pool. In a report for the water authority, the intention was mentioned as early as April 1936. Originally, the construction of a swimming pool at Králičina was considered (if you want to learn something about Králičina, I recommend the cache Nature Trail "Škvorecká obora – Králičina"). Eventually, the swimming pool was built on a meadow below Holá Hostyně. The construction of one swimming pool measuring 75x25m started on 21.9.1940 and was completed a year later. In 1944, a new well was dug to improve the quality of the water.
In the 1950s, the swimming pool was completely reconstructed, when the original pool was divided into two smaller ones, a children's paddling pool with its own water well and changing rooms was built. Then only maintenance took place for a long time.
In the 1970s, the swimming pool was even closed for several years. According to eyewitnesses, the bottoms of the pools were clogged with mud and reeds grew in them. At the end of the 1970s, the swimming pools were repaired again, albeit in a rather temporary way, new changing rooms and refreshments were built at the entrance to the complex.
The city undertook a major reconstruction in 1999. The swimming pools were newly concreted, the wiring was repaired, a slide and new play elements for children were built. The work was of poor quality and the city dealt with a number of complaints, but the purity of the water and the level of the entire area improved.
This situation was followed by the last tenant, who tried to keep the swimming pool technically in operation and built a number of sports facilities in the area - beach volleyball, football, tennis, minigolf. Sports equipment and board games were rented here. The Orange Bar in Úvaly has opened its summer establishment here. The swimming pool was alive, but the technical condition of the water treatment plant, water distribution and electrical installations was again almost in disrepair, and therefore it was closed in 2015.
In October 2016, a referendum was held in Úvaly, in which the inhabitants of Úvaly answered the question "Are you in favor of restoring the Úvaly swimming pool, even though the funds intended for the reconstruction of infrastructure and other property will be reduced by the costs associated with it?". 50.2% of voters took part in the referendum, of which 75% decided that they wanted to restore the swimming pool.
After this referendum, various water analyses and assessments of the construction of the pool began to be carried out.
Water analyses have shown that the water from the well at the swimming pool is not usable for filling the pool without the construction of a costly water treatment plant. The reasons are following:
• occurrence of fecal bacteria
• 38 times higher water turbidity than the standard allows.
• 30 times higher iron and 23 times manganese than allowed by the standard
• High water hardness
Furthermore, other factors such as:
• Insufficient capacity of the water treatment plant due to the size of the pool
• Danger of a 400V discharge into the pool from the accumulation pit
• Emergency condition of the filtration system
• Children's playground in poor condition
• The fencing on the side facing the creek is undermined and collapsing
What did the city have to invest in order to save the Úvaly swimming pool?
• Repair of pool tubs
• New filter unit
• New changing rooms and showers
• New or enlarged toilet
• New galleries and waders around the pools
• New facilities for lifeguards
• New fencing of the area.
The reconstruction and opening of the swimming pool was also carried out by the ,,Save the Úvaly Swimming Pool” association.
Saving the Úvaly swimming pool cost the city around CZK 43,000,000 (circa 1 700 Euros)
The swimming pool was opened on 1.6.2018 and since then it has been operating continuously, every season.
About the cache
The cache is an 800ml LockAndLock box. You can't get directly to it with a stroller, but you can park it about 7 meters from the cache.
There is one Úvaly CWG in the cache. Exchange ONLY PIECE FOR PIECE to make other hunters happy.
I also ask you to return the cache to the exact place where you found it and to disguise it appropriately.
