When placed, the field here was full of sunflowers! There was already a trodden path down to the flowers so I took it as a sign to put a cache here! Sunflowers really are amazingly beautiful and you can't help but smile when you see them. The farmers in Northern Southland are experimenting a lot more with the crops that they plant and it is wonderful that we get to enjoy them for free.
The Around the Mountains Bike track is well maintained and an easy walk or cycle for the family. It is never crowded so it's a great opportunity to let young or new cachers explore a bit and discover different cache containers. My aim is to get more people interested in geocaching (especially youngsters!)
Please be careful of the ditch which is almost hidden in the grass!
You're looking for a black nano - almost invisible when you look!
Please remember that there are farms along here so check out fences before you touch them. No need to go over the fence.
