The fourteenth instalment of the Lad(d)ies What Lunch series of events. It all started when myself, Maerad and dibby3 attended a lunch event back in November 2022 and signed all logs on caches we found that day as Ladies What Lunch. The extra D has been added to ensure we can be inclusive of all cachers.
We are venturing across the border into Greater Manchester this time - and will be heading to The White House at Blackstone Edge, which can be found on the hills between Littleborough and Ripponden, very close to the border between West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester. On a clear day, there are some fantastic views from the pub.
There is no requirement to purchase food to attend this event, but it would still be handy to know if you are attending to ensure there is room for you. For those eating and wishing to plan ahead, there is a menu on the pubs website. You do not need to let me know if you are eating or not - numbers for seating is all that is required.
The pub has a car park. With regards public transport options - its not great unfortunately - the nearest train station is in Littleborough, but not all trains stop there. The 587 bus (Halifax to Rochdale) runs past the pub, but isn't a very frequent service. Timetables and details can be found online.
For the early birds who like to arrive before the start time of 12pm - please be aware the pub doesn't open its doors until 12pm.
All cachers are welcome - new and existing - if you are not sure who to look for, ask staff for the reservation for Fiona.
Dogs are not allowed inside the pub - with the exception of assistance dogs.
Trackables - any which fit into a small tupperware box (with the lid on) are more than welcome. If you wish to bring anything larger, you are responsible for passing it along or taking it back if no-one is willing.
