Önningby är en by i Jomala kommun. Här fanns Önningebykolonin, en konstnärskoloni som verkade mellan 1886 och 1914. Grundaren var den finländske landskapsmålaren Victor Westerholm som hade en stuga alldeles vid Lemströms kanal. Under kolonitiden vistades flertalet kända konstnärer på platsen bla J.A.G. Acke, Edvard Westman och Hanna Rönnberg. Förutom att det målades anordnades även fester, maskerader och exkursioner ut i den Åländska skärgården.
1992 beslöts att öppna ett konstmuseum, beliggandes i den gamla ladan alldeles nära cachen. Det drivs av Önningeby hembygdsförening och på museet kan man hitta konst från många Åländska konstnärer, främst Victor Westerholms och Önningebykolonins olika konstnärer.
På museiområdet finns även Jonesas hembygdsgård med mangårdsbyggnad och lillstuga i ursprungligt skick.
Intill Önningebymuseet ligger Sjöbloms emigrant- och torparmuseum, ett museum som påminner om de mindre bemedlades liv och om de många ålänningar som emigrerat till främmande länder. Har du tur är byggnaderna och museet öppet.
Själva cachen ligger lättillgänglig och inga föremål behöver flyttas.
Den är utplacerad med museiintendentens tillåtelse.

Önningby is a village in the municipality of Jomala. Here you found the "Önningebykolonin", an artist's colony that operated between 1886 and 1914. The founder was the Finnish landscape painter Victor Westerholm who had a cottage right by the channel at Lemström. During the colonial period, many artists stayed at the place, J.A.G. In 1992 it was decided to open an art museum, located in the old barn near the cache. It is run by the Önningeby hembygdsförening and the museum features art from many Åland artists, primarily of Victor Westerholm and the various artists from the Önningeby colony.
The museum grounds also include the farm of Jonesa's with a manor house and cottage in original condition.
In front of the Önningeby Museum is the Sjöblom Emigrant and Farm Museum, a museum that commemorates the lives of the less privileged and the many Ålanders who emigrated to foreign countries. If you are lucky, you can visit all the houses and the museum.
The cache itself is easily accessible and no objects need to be moved.
