Narodna noša so tradicionalna oblačila, ki jih nosi določena etnična skupnost ali narod in so značilna za določeno regijo, kulturo ali zgodovinsko obdobje. Narodne noše odražajo kulturno dediščino, običaje in način življenja določenega naroda ali skupnosti. Običajno se nosijo ob posebnih priložnostih, kot so prazniki, poroke, folklorne prireditve ali verski obredi.
Narodne noše so pomemben del kulturne identitete in ponosa ter pogosto predstavljajo simbol povezanosti z zgodovino in tradicijo določenega naroda ali skupnosti.
Vsaka narodna noša je edinstvena in pogosto vključuje specifične elemente, kot so kroj oblačil, uporaba tradicionalnih tkanin, vzorcev, barv, vezenin in dodatkov, kot so pasovi, klobuki, nakit in obutev.
V drugi polovici 20. stoletja, ko je kmečko prebivalstvo že počasi začelo opuščati svojo tradicionalno nošo, t. i. ljudsko nošo, so nekatere dele te noše prevzeli meščani in jih začeli nositi Gre predvsem za oblikovno, likovno bolj zanimive in bogate prvine predvsem s pražnje noše. Vzrok za ta pojav je bilo narodno prebujenje in potreba meščanov po dokazovanju pripadnosti slovenskemu narodu.
V začetku je bila narodna noša še posebej razširjena v narodnostno ogroženih področjih (Primorska, tržaški Kras …). Posebej pa se je razbohotila na Gorenjskem, zaradi nastopaškega bahaštva, kar se je kazalo s pretiranim vnašanjem zahtevnejših elementov praznične ljudske noše (pretirana ornamentacija, poudarki na sklepancu, avba …).
Dandanes se z narodno nošo srečujemo na različnih turističnih in folklornih prireditvah, veselicah in koncertih narodno-zabavnih ansamblov.
V Sloveniji je najbogatejša in najbolj prepoznavna gorenjska narodna noša, ki jo pogosto označujemo kot slovensko narodno nošo.
Ženska ima na glavi avbo, pošito z bleščicami, belo blago je visoko nagubano, bela srajca je obrobljena s čipko, okoli ramen je ovita pisana ruta, zataknjena za pas, nabrano krilo sega do gležnjev, čez je predpasnik, okoli bokov visi svilen pas s pentljo.
Moški imajo belo srajco, telovnik z medeninastimi gumbi, hlače iz irhovine, klobuk.

This trend particularly involved the more visually and artistically appealing elements, especially from festive costumes. The reason for this phenomenon was national awakening and the need of townspeople to demonstrate their belonging to the Slovenian nation.
Initially, the national costume was particularly widespread in areas where the national identity was under threat (e.g., Primorska, the Karst region near Trieste). It became especially prominent in Gorenjska, due to a certain degree of ostentatious showiness, which manifested in the excessive incorporation of more elaborate elements of the festive folk costume (excessive ornamentation, emphasis on the "sklepanc," the "avba," etc.).
Today, national costumes are encountered at various tourist and folk events, festivals, and concerts of folk-pop ensembles.
