Lameroo is famous for being the birthplace of Julie Anthony (singer) and Rodney Maynard (Aussie Rules Footballer).
Like many other towns in the region, settlement was slow until the arrival of the railways allowing farmers to move their produce onto the ports until advancement in storage in the form of bulk handling. There is a 24/7 fuel available, takeaway food during the day and a good health service if needed. Lameroo is currently fundraising to have their grain silos painted like others in the region.
Lameroo CFS has two appliances and train on the second Tuesday of the month at 8pm. They have responded to 23 call outs for 2022 -23 and forms part of region 3, ‘Mallee Group’.
For this simple multi, the year of establishment of the Lameroo CFS = ABCD.
