Back in the 1990s and in the early 2000s this was the place to be on Tuesday nights. Again this field was used for men's fastball until the ladies wanted to play and then it turned into a slow pitch field. The backstop used to be in the corner up against the highway next to the cement wall. One evening there was a car that was driving by and the driver ended up having a medical emergency and he ended up, driving off the road and into the benches that were on the first baseline and into the backstop. Thank God that field wasn't being used that evening, or it could've been disastrous. After that, the backstop was rebuilt and placed where it is now to keep everybody safer.
