A chapel of ease for Weald was built in 1822 with funds provided by the Lambarde family. A tower designed by Mr Whichcord, a Maidstone Architect, was added to the chapel in 1840; three years later the tower clock was installed. A chancel desgned by the architect Thomas Graham Jackson was completed in 1871 with funds provided by the Hodgson family. In 1896, the tower was judged to be unsafe so the height was reduced by six meters. The church gained parish status in 1894; it is Grade II listed. A modern extension was added to the rear of the church in 2007, it provides a kitchen, toilets and meeting rooms.
At the entrance to the southern, Glebe Road, churchyard is an oak framed lychgate that dates from 1910, it was commissioned by the Hodgson family. A war memorial, built in 1920, is located near the apex of the north churchyard.
St George's church is in Rochester Diocese and Tonbridge Archdeaconry, the patron is St Nicholas Church Sevenoaks; the church is open until 4 pm on Thursdays and Sundays.
The Church Hall and King's Community garden are located a short distance away.

The cache is a 35mm film canister containing a log book only, please take care when walking to the cache location as there is no pavement and you need to cross the road.
