Geocache Description:

Let Freedom Ring (Tom) began caching in May of 2003. He made his first find on May 31, 2003 at GC69CA. On October 15, 2023 Tom reached the milestone of 10,000 finds!  At the beginning of his caching journey, Markayla often joined him (though only known as Mark at that point in time), so it is only fitting that his 10,000th find was at Markayla's Bingo event down in Cedar Rapids! Though we are celebrating his 10,000th find, Tom has accumilated numerous other Geocaching milestones. These include filliing his FIZZY grid multiple times, completing a Jasmer, finding a cache in every county of Iowa, and completing at least one calendar loop!

Over the course of his 20 years in Geocaching, Tom has worked hard to actively place geocaches in the community. He has brightened the the community with roughly 98 geocaches. With his creativity and ingenuity in cache design, Tom has added a level to Geocaching that is unmatched. When not Geocaching, Tom can be found on his bike (probably riding to another cache), doing woodwork in his garage, cross stitching, or spending time with his family.

This cache was placed in honor of someone who has become a great friend over the past few years and to thank him for his contribution to this hobby! Cheers to 10,000 Tom...now onto the next one!
