This is a two stage multicache. The first stage leads you near to the towering smokestack of the Langeloth Metallurgical Company, also known as Climax to the locals. LMC is one of the few operable molybdenum refineries in North America. This plant started as a zinc refinery in 1914 and later shifted to refining molybdenum. Over the last century, a small village has sprung up on the hillside west of the plant. At its height, the thriving town of Langeloth boasted a school, company store, movie theater, and post office. In recent years, most of these amenities have been outsourced to larger cities. Still, however, the prominent red and white striped smokestack serves as a landmark in the local community.
The second stage of this multicache will lead you to Quaker's Knob, a small hillock that rises above the surrounding terrain. Heading south from this final stage, you can enjoy vistas of the countryside from the ridge.
Please do not attempt to go directly up to the plant or explore on private property. Both cache stages are near the roadway with adequate place to pull off with a vehicle.
At the first stage of this cache, you will find the coordinates for the second stage. There is no puzzle to solve, you are simply given the coordinates.
There is some room for small trades at the final stage. Please leave things neatly as you found them.
