The Rea Valley Route is quite a lengthy 11.3 km route between Longbridge and Cannon Hill Park. One such part of this route hugs the railway line between Longbridge and Northfield railway stations; this railway was part of the Birmingham and Gloucester Railway and now forms a major artery of the Cross-Country and West Midlands routes. An interesting part of this route passes a small road going for a swim under the river - though not often frequented by vehicles it provides entertainment when people dare to tackle it after a spell of heavy rain. Take a moment to appreciate this quirky highway feature while walking this section of the Rea Valley Route, but watch out for the splash zone!
This walkway is commonly used by locals and their dogs, and has a busy-ish road nearby. This means stealth is essential when picking up this cache!
