Black squirrels are rare, but populations of black squirrels are found within the Great Lakes Basin, with a notable increase in their frequency between the 41st parallel north and the 45th parallel north. The Lansing area tends to be a location where they can be seen fairly frequently, and we have definitely seen them while hiking in this park!
This cache is located in Ted Black Woods, which is part of the Meridian Township Parks system. Current park hours are dawn until dusk. Please respect the park hours. The park now has two parking areas (waypoints shown below). The park also now has nice new trail signing.
This is one of our favorite trails in one of our favorite parks. The cache container is a small sized snap-lock container hidden in a typical way. The cache is not far off of the trail, so please stay on the trail until you are near the cache. If you do not find the cache right away, please use the hint below vs. overly disturbing the area.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to Black Woods!
Congrats to dotdotdash on being First to Find!
