The term "Black Sheep" originated from the occasional black sheep which are born into a flock of white sheep. Black wool is considered commercially undesirable because it cannot be dyed. In modern usage, the expression has lost some of its negative connotations, though the term is usually given to the member of a group who has certain characteristics or lack thereof deemed undesirable by that group.
This cache is located in Ted Black Woods, which is part of the Meridian Township Parks system. Current park hours are dawn until dusk. Please respect the park hours. The park now has two parking areas (waypoints shown below). The park also now has nice new trail signing.
This is one of our favorite trails in one of our favorite parks. The cache container is a small sized snap-lock container hidden in a typical way. The cache is not far off of the trail, so please stay on the trail until you are near the cache. If you do not find the cache right away, please use the hint below vs. overly disturbing the area.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to Black Woods!
