Geocache Description:

NOT ACCESSIBLE FROM FREEWAY!! GZ should ONLY be accessed via Balmattum North Road, stopping on the Hume Freeway is illegal and dangerous

Clearly signposted historic grain store. Thanks to an achieved cache from this location (GC20WBT) we know that it has been known as the Old Grain Store for many decades, although the building is unlikely ever to have been used as its name suggested. It is set well into the ground, to half the height of its interior, with access via several steps. Cellers or stores dug this way we're mainly used for dairy products to keep them cool and with a very successful cheese and butter factory in the area from a similar time it seems to point towards a dairy store.

After being struck by a truck some years ago and insuring liability disputes the case took some time to be resolved due to it being heritage listed and needing suitably qualified or experienced craftsmen.

I'm testing out using hyrolite tubes from caches so let me know thoughts on the container. Happy finding

Congrats to Robmc for FTF!!
