Tuesday March 26 2024 0730 hrs.
GC54F Vulture Peak placed 3-26-2001 has been on my radar for some time. There has also been a lot of activity at the peak. I would like to gather in the parking lot of the trail head by 0730 hrs. We could meet and visit for a half hour. (till 0800) The area is kind of out of the way so this would be a good reason to visit and do some Caching afterward.
After the Meet and Greet I plan to hike up to the peak and grab the old cache. There are other caches on the way to the top that can be found. There are also plenty of caches to find in the area or on the way home.
I am not a fast hiker, but if you decide to join me and find the oldie on the peak (not me) you can walk along or you can go at your own pace.
According to previous logs it can take between 2.5 hours and 5 hours round trip. The hike is kind of difficult and the top is rock climbing from what I hear.
Come out and visit. You can hike to the top with us or use this as a starting point to grab some caches in the area. If you are going to hike, bring plenty of water, snacks and lunch. Wear proper clothing and shoes for the hike and climb.
The weather is warming up and SNAKES could be out.
