Sergeant James H. McCormick entered the army in 1943, trained at Ft. Knox, Kentucky and Camp Chaffee in Arkansas. He served in the European Theater of Operations and in Germany. He was awarded 5 battle stars, the Good Conduct Medal and the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in Germany in 1944. He was discharged in 1945.
