As part of National Bison Day in 2023, the Allegheny County Park Rangers hosted an informative presentation about the bison herd in the South Park Game Preserve (see archived GCA8CVW). Each attendee was given a bison tube for use as a cache container; I hid that bison tube elsewhere in South Park (GCAG8K4). As part of a Christmas event, I was gifted with a container that included a handful of bison tubes of varying colors. A red bison tube has been placed along the Warmup Loop Trail (Red). During your walk on the South Park trails, you will encounter slippery paths and muddy trails. It is suggested that hiking shoes be worn; no flip-flops, sandals, or open-toed shoes are recommended. Depending on your chosen approach, the shorter walk has an uphill hike, and a longer trek is along the red trail with little elevation change. A small extraction TOTT may be needed to easily get the log sheet.
