I placed this cache in support of the CASC 2024 Letterbox Hybrid Series (Spring Fling 2024) which I was asked and honored to contribute to: CASC 2024 - Ilum. In order to help entice geocachers to come and get a stamp, sign a log, get amazing views of Santa Monica Bay, and not to mention some much needed exercise, I placed caches on either side of the trail of Ilum. Think of them like dangled carrots!
Kenneth Hahn Park is open 6am to sunset everyday. Parking is free on weekdays. However, expect to pay $7 on weekends and holidays. The posted trailhead off of Cloverdale Avenue offers free parking but please pay attention to posted signs in the neighborhood and please be respectful of those who live there. It's about a 15-20 minute hike to this cache from there. I'd recommend it over the approach from the parking lot as the elevation gain could be problematic for certain individuals.
