Total solar eclipse 2024, Ada Ohio edition. Ada, Ohio will be almost on the centerline of the Total Solar Eclipse. We will have more total eclipse time than many other cities to the Northeast that are exactly on the center line. I will provide a link below that show times, simulator, etc. The Ada Library will provide ISO approved eyewear since you cannot look directly at the sun but please bring your own if you have some. Also, please bring lawn chairs as there is no outdoor seating areas. The partial eclipse will begin at 1:55pm EDT and the total eclipse will begin at 3:10pm EDT and last appoximately 3 minutes and 55 seconds. The moon will finally finish its trek across the sun at approximately 4:27pm. You can come and go as you please and are not required to stay the entire duration of the 3 hour time.
Some eclipse related phenomena are to expect a dramatic temperature drop (if the day is sunny) and could drop 15-25 degrees during the majority of the eclipse time, so dress accordingly. If you have never experienced a total solar eclipse, this is your perfect opportunity to see a once in a lifetime event. The next opportunity for northwest ohio will not happen for another 75 years.
There will be many other non-geoevents in the surrounding areas, so expect some possible traffic issues and plan your day accordingly. There are also lots of caches in the area, and myself and the Ada Library Director will stay as long as other wish. We are hoping for a nice cloudless day.
