Geocache Description:

14 September 2024, 08:00 - 17:00

Welcome to Jackson County and Hike-n-Seek 2024!

Headquarters for the Saturday activities will be Boyer Hall at the Jackson County Fairgrounds.

The morning activities will begin at 8am. You can drop off your GPSr to get the GPX file loaded (please bring special cords if needed) and a QR code will be available for cell phone cachers at release time. Please note - you cannot download a GPX file to the official Geocaching app; you will need to be using something like Cachly for iPhone or c:geo for Android so plan ahead!

Dinner will be potluck-style. We will be providing pizza and some other basics. If you are making a day-trip of attending the event, we ask that you bring a small side-dish to share. If you are travelling farther and will be camping or staying in a hotel, we ask that you bring a small dessert or bag of chips (or something equally easy to transport) to share. If you are not able to bring anything, you are still able to eat!

SHIRTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR ORDERING! Please visit the IGO store to place your order. Shirt orders are due by 8/25/24.

2024 HnS Poker Run!

There were will be some special "poker run" caches publishing along with all the event caches on Saturday, 9/14/24. If you would like to participate in the poker run, you will need to ante a "tool of the trade" (aka a TotT.) The best hand at the end of the event will receive the entire pot of tools! More details about the poker run will be provided on event day.

**Cache at your own risk**

Geocaching, hiking, backpacking and other outdoor activities involve risk to both persons and property. There are many variables including, but not limited to, weather, fitness level, terrain features and outdoor experience, that must be considered prior to seeking a Cache. Be prepared for your journey and be sure to check the current weather and conditions before heading outdoors. Always exercise common sense and caution.
**Remember to be good ambassadors to nature. We as geocachers have a responsibility to leave it as we found it, so others may enjoy nature's glory. Always replace the cache the way you found it, so others may enjoy the find.
