One of those mushrooms that just pops up overnight, this shaggy species has an interesting property. What you see in the picture is its characteristic shape. But instead of opening like typical mushrooms, the white cap will autodeliquese - it basically dissolves itself into a black ink to release its spores. They are here one day, gone the next.
