Lochshore Park is the newly developed site of the former Glengarnock Steelworks and covers around 250 hectares, including Kilbirnie Loch. There are beautiful accessible circular walks both around the side of the loch and the park with areas of woodland, moorland, wetland and wild flower meadows. It is becoming popular with cyclists and walkers alike, so you must be sneaky to avoid the stares of muggles while searching.
This life like cache is at the end loop of a short (0.75km) walk from the Community Hub with picnic tables and a small rocky beach. You are looking among the trees for something found in nature but slightly out of place. Bring tweezers to access the logbook. Remember to tie yor shoes, and slow and steady wins the race!
You can park for free, there is a cafe on site for hot drinks and food, there are rugby matches at the weekend which can become quite busy.
