Wherever possible please always stay on existing paths to reduce damage to the plants and wildlife living in this area. Camping, off-road vehicles and fires are strictly prohibited in this area. Dogs are welcome, but if you have one, please keep them leashed to protect the wildlife & take care to clean up after them.
A small challenging cache, but you don't need to enter the sluice station to be able to find it. Please bring your own pencil / pen (BYOP) & tweezers since the cache isn't large enough to accommodate one.
This area was formerly owned by BP until it was later donated to Swansea university. Prior to the donation the area was lightly developed to include a water and natural gas pipeline through the area. Only the gas pipeline is in use today so the water sluice stations are abandoned and unused.
Nearby you'll find the sand dunes and saltmarsh which support a stunning array of wild flowers, attracting insects and the birds and small mammals that feed on them. The beach is an important feeding and roosting area for wading birds such as the sanderling, oystercatcher and ringed plover. Don't scare them off!

It is also placed with the blessing of the owner of the original series, who is sadly now too far away & hence the archiving of the original cache here. I have tried to keep in the spirit of the original hide, but it is not identical.
