Geocache Description:

SideTracked - Quakers Hill

About SideTracked Caches.
This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. It's a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found on the SideTracked Series website at
www.sidetrackedseries.info

Quakers Hill station was opened as Douglas Siding in 1872. Its name was changed to Quakers Hill on 30 March 1905 and it was moved to its present location on 29 June 1939. Two sets of points at the southern end of the station allowed trains to terminate on either platform.

The station had a crossing loop until the line was duplicated from Marayong to Quakers Hill in 2002. The second track was then extended to Schofields in 2011.

The listed co-ordinates will take you to the station where you will need to access the platform by tapping on with your Opal card. Please remember to tap off again before you leave so that the charge is reversed and it costs you nothing.
