This is the second geocache I am placing in the High Lonesome nature reserve. This is a beautiful trail network that is well cared for, with many passionate fans (including me!).
I have hiked here with my kids for years, and today they carried the geocache container in their snack bag on our main objective: to hike to the Old Oak. The Old Oak is located along the North Wind side trail loop, and I definitely recommend the entire loop, not just the end where the cache is! Note, the geocache is not hidden in the Old Oak, but it is not far from that landmark!
This is a nice big geocache container hidden in a spot that makes sense and will hopefully be available year round, although it is at risk of getting frozen in the winter. I hope this geocache brings back classic memories of geocaching, where it is more about the journey than about the numbers.
