The Trent Aegir is a natural phenomenon. Today, 30th March is predicted to be a 4* Aegir....
The predicted time for the Aegir to arrive at Owston Ferry is 19.04, Stockwith at 19.34 and Gainsborough at 19.53 although it can arrive 30 minutes either side of this time or indeed not arrive at all. The tide height at Keadby is expected to be 5.2m. As this location is further upstream, we have started the event earlier to account for this.
Sunset is expected around 19:33 on 30th March so we should still have daylight in this location to make a sighting.
We'll be watching the river intently and if you're lucky and it arrives, you may be able to drive alongside it.
What we will be looking for is a change in the direction of flow and a ripple or wave depending on the conditions.
(Visitors by boat also welcome).
If the Aegir does arrive and you meet the requirements then you may also be able the claim the nearby Earthcache
